Want to know more about me?My journey into storytelling began long before I knew it would become my career.My higher education started nerdy in the corridors of biology & chemistry, eventually leading to an interdisciplinary PhD in Denmark.Even when I was passionately working on geeky projects, I missed out on some life that I was happy in.Only while writing my PhD thesis did I rediscover my love for writing—a love that was affirmed by special jury remarks.Looking back, it all made sense. During my B.Sc. days, I churned out short stories and poems and served as people’s proxy for expression, be it emceeing events, giving TV interviews, or coming up with SciComm ideas that won me and my co-participants prizes in competitions.That was the Eureka! Moment! I finally listened to my call. Then I knew for sure I would make a good storyteller. And that I can make a good living telling stories!But I didn’t want to leave science behind, either. So I bridged the two, carving out a niche in science writing and journalism.Working as a freelance journalist and earning an MA in Science Journalism in the UK transformed me into a full-time science communication professional.Over the years, I've been fortunate to collaborate with global organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO) and earn bylines in leading media outlets, like New Scientist, Deutsche Welle, Nature Biotechnology, South China Morning Post, The Hindu, The Lancet group, and more.They say teaching helps one hone the craft well. So I did! I’ve trained hundreds of researchers at the Technical University of Dresden and across the Max Planck Society in Germany to help them transform their knowledge into engaging, impactful stories.
With over a decade of experience in media and over two years in corporate communications, I feel I'm ripe with a unique blend of expertise that bridges storytelling, strategy, and science.What's more! As a person of colour, neurodivergent, and queer, all in one, I bring valuable unique experiences and perspectives.
